Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou ep.1

I just finished watching the first episode of the Getsuku (Monday 9) of the Winter 2013 season.

Synopsis (from DramaWiki):

This story takes place at an antiquarian bookshop on a secluded corner of Kamakura, Japan's ancient capital, called Biblia Antiquarian bookshop. The owner of the shop is Shinokawa Shioriko, a young and beautiful woman who is overly shy and finds it difficult to converse upon meeting someone for the first time. On the other hand, the abundance of her knowledge in antiquarian books is second to none. When she speaks about these classic books, passion overcomes shyness and she becomes the most eloquent storyteller. Shioriko is your guide to unravelling the secrets and mysteries of antiquarian books through her vast knowledge on the subject and sharp observant eyes.

Cast:

My impressions :

This is a mystery drama, in which the books are the key to unravel the mysteries. The setting of this drama, an antique book shop, is actually quite nice. The visuals were also well made. The atmosphere in the book shop was well captured and the opening had cool animation effects. This was the strong point of this drama. The music was very good too, specially because I love techno / electropop music, but I think it does not fit the theme of old books. The case presented in the episode could easily be figured out by some people ( I am terrible at that though ;) ), but I thought it was interesting enough. This drama is enjoyable if you like mystery drama that is not too heavy.  For me, it was entertaining enough that I might watch more.
