Shotenin Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi ep.1

Shotenin Michiru no Mi no Uebanashi (The Life Story of bookshop clerk Michiru ) episodes 1 mini review!

I most probably only have 2 other Winter 2013 season dramas to watch. Which are Tonbi and Yakou Kanransha.

Synopsis (from DramaWiki and Jdramas blog):

Michiru (Toda Erika) is an ordinary girl who works at a bookshop in a provincial town. She has been dating Kutaro (Emoto Tasuku) for a year, but they have not taken the plunge and married. Michiru’s little secret is that she is having an affair with Toyomasu (Arai Hirofumi), a publishing company’s salesman, who comes from Tokyo. One day, Michiru slips out of the bookshop and goes to see Toyomasu off as he returns to Tokyo. On the spur of a moment, they leave for Tokyo together and she stays on in the metropolis. Then, Michiru learns that the lottery she bought for a colleague was the winning 200 million yen lottery ticket. Michiru’s destiny starts to take a thrilling turn. She does not tell anyone about winning the lottery and roams around with the 200 million yen in her bank passbook. Takei (Kora Kengo), Michiru’s childhood friend who loves her, shows his unexpected true self. Kutaro and Toyomasu get involved in the matter. Where will Michiru land up? And who is the storyteller who claims to be Michiru's husband (Omori Nao)?

Cast:

This guy frankly freaks me out a little bit

My impressions:

Definitely a different and mysterious drama. I am not one who watch suspense drama usually, because of that it is very hard for me to review this with only 1 episode watched. Also, I think this drama will flourish more in the later episodes.
As with other suspense drama I have watched, the first episode is only an introduction. We do not know much about what is happening or what will happen. If you read the synopsis, it summaries very much what happens in the first episode.
The story is told in a mysterious way. There is a narrator telling the story in the past tense. The narrator also claims to be Michiru's future husband, but we do not know who it is. We are wondering, so who is her future husband? It is my first time wondering "who is the narrator?". It's an interesting twist.
This drama is different, because it is not an usual story.

I don't think I am going to continue watching Shotenin Michiru. If you are a suspense that is looking for something very different, I do recommend this one.
